The trails surrounding Old Fort are some of the best in WNC, and the weekend of Nov 17-18th they are going to get some love. Along with two of our neighboring chapters, we will be helping promote and organize this exciting weekend of work, riding, and camaraderie. Base camp for the event will be on the doorstep of Pisgah at Camp Grier, and the hosts are offering dinner, lodging, and more (like free shuttles to the top of the trails). This will be a great time! Find all the information and register at: https://www.campgrier.org/rideandrun.
Join us for our Annual Meeting on Friday, Nov. 30 at Lightning Cycles in Hickory NC. Doors will open at 6pm, and meeting will commence at 6:30.
During this meeting we will take care of some quick annual business, provide some information on the state of the Alliance, and then have plenty of time for conversation over some drinks. Some land managers that we work with will also be in attendance. Meeting is open to everyone, including non-members.
This year we will also be announcing the winner of our Anniversary Bike Raffle at the end of the meeting…Join us!
One of the business items for the meeting is to appoint new board members and officers for 2019. To read more about the 2018 board members, click here. Nominations for 2019 are now open for members in good standing. If you’d like to nominate yourself, another member, or if you have any questions about what board members do and what the expectations are (monthly meeting attendance, etc.), email us back at email@example.com, and we’ll get right back to you.
We are also working on a group ride at Hickory City Park for those who can make it early. This is tentatively scheduled for 3pm.
Other items on the meeting agenda:
Trails (Current Projects, Future Plans)
Promotions (Financials, Trail Work Parties, Rides, Social Events, Alliance Gear, Grants)
Outreach (Membership, Sponsorship, LBS Activities, Local Events)
We have a lot to share and want to hear what you’d like to say about the trails you ride. Whether you’ve already joined the Alliance or just wanting some information, stop on by to find out what we are all about
Come help us give the trails at Lake James State Park some love!
