The trails surrounding Old Fort are some of the best in WNC, and the weekend of Nov 17-18th they are going to get some love. Along with two of our neighboring chapters, we will be helping promote and organize this exciting weekend of work, riding, and camaraderie. Base camp for the event will be on the doorstep of Pisgah at Camp Grier, and the hosts are offering dinner, lodging, and more (like free shuttles to the top of the trails). This will be a great time! Find all the information and register at: https://www.campgrier.org/rideandrun.

The OF Trail Work Weekend is a biannual event to improve Kitsuma, Heartbreak Ridge, Star Gap, and many other trails in the Old Fort area. Volunteers can commit to one day or the whole weekend. We welcome any amount of time volunteers can contribute.
Work starts in the morning and we leave plenty of time in the afternoon for a ride or a run. Shuttles are provided for laps on Kitsuma. Camp Grier provides free camping and lodging as well as dinner on Saturday night.
Volunteers need to bring: gloves, closed toed shoes, breakfast, lunch and water bottles, clothing appropriate to be working outside, and camping equipment.

Beginner: I’m new to mtb. I kinda like it and want to ride more! This group will start on Keendergarten and Rocky Branch. Ride leaders will determine if the group should progress to other trails.
Intermediate: I’m comfortable on smooth green & blue trails. I want to improve my technical abilities on more challenging terrain. This group will ride Rocky Branch, Middle Earth, and the lower portion of Boat Rock.
Advanced: I’m comfortable on most terrain (technical sections, some drops and jumps) but I want to challenge myself and ride more committing features. This group will ride a full loop (Rocky Branch, Middle Earth, Boat Rock, Ol Hoss). The group can choose what trails to repeat if time allows.
About Rocky Knob Bike Park: If you’re new to riding RKP you’ll need to know the trails are very rocky. ALL. OF. THEM. There will be climbing and you will encounter man made trail features as well as natural trail features. These are challenging, but fun trails!! This year Rocky Knob celebrates its 10 year Anniversary and improvements continue to happen in this little gem of a bike park just outside of Boone, NC.
The SORBA Summit will be in Old Fort, NC, April 12th-16th, 2023. This event will be hosted in partnership with the Alliance and G5 Trail Collective.
