The trails surrounding Old Fort are some of the best in WNC. Each year we like to show them some love. The OF Trail Work Weekend is a biannual event to improve Kitsuma, Heartbreak Ridge, Star Gap, and many other trails in the Old Fort area. Volunteers can commit to one day or the whole weekend. We welcome any amount of time volunteers can contribute.
Work starts in the morning and we leave plenty of time in the afternoon for a ride or a run. Shuttles are provided for laps on Kitsuma. Camp Grier provides free camping and lodging as well as dinner on Saturday night.
Volunteers need to bring: gloves, closed toed shoes, breakfast, lunch and water bottles, clothing appropriate to be working outside, and camping equipment.
