Mortimer Spring Trail Weekend 2024 @ Mortimer Campground
May 3 – May 5 all-day

The Mortimer Spring Trail weekend returns May 3-5, 2024! This event is being co-sponsored by Foothills Conservancy and G5 Trail Collective, and will be centered around a trail workday on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. In addition, there will be several organized rides on surrounding trails. Free camping will be available for those who sign up for the trail work. So we can plan accordingly, if you will be attending any portion of the weekend, fill out the following form: Mortimer Spring Trail Weekend RSVP.  Any updates to the plan (weather, etc.) will be emailed to the RSVP list.

Friday Ride – 4:00 p.m.
Friday Night Camping

May 4th, 2024
Saturday Trail Work – 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Saturday Afternoon Ride – 3:00 p.m.
Saturday Night Camping

For the trail work, bring sturdy footwear, work gloves, snacks/lunch, and water. Tools will be provided, but bring your own favorite tool if you have one.

Lake Hickory Park Trails – Community Workday and Ride @ Lake Hickory Park
May 19 @ 9:00 am – 12:30 pm
• Please join us for a Community Trail Workday at the Lake Hickory City Park Trail Network on Sunday morning May 19th!  We need your support to keep our trails running great!  Meet at the Lake Hickory Park MTB parking lot. Please bring a daypack with water & snacks. We will provide TOOLS & trail crew leaders. No experience required. We will be performing maintenance on the Broyhill, Flowmentum and Elevator Trails. Work will include trimming & clearing drainages to help reduce erosion on the trail. Sturdy footwear recommended. If you have gloves & safety glasses, please bring them.
• Also, for those interested we’ll lead a, no-drop, group mountain bike ride after the work session. So, bring your riding gear & your Mtn bike!
• SCHEDULE:
9:00am – Meet at Lake Hickory City Park MTB Trailhead
9:00am – 9:15am – Safety talk, crew assignment, explanation of tasks
9:15am – 12:00pm – Trail Work
12:00pm – 12:15pm – Return to trailhead & collect tools
1:00pm – Group Ride (optional)

National Trails Day Work Party at Kerr Scott @ Kerr Scott VAC

Join the Alliance for National Trails Day at Kerr Scott. We will meet at the Visitors Assistance Center at the main OVT trailhead. Work will begin at 9 am; please arrive a few minutes early if possible. Work will end around noon. Bring sturdy footwear and work gloves, plus water and snacks to take with you on the trail. Tools will be provided. A group ride is scheduled at 1pm.

Dates and work detail subject to change; this post may be revised. Any day-of cancellations will be posted on our social media, so check there if weather looks questionable.
