Join us for our Annual Chapter Meeting and Social on Friday, December 8 at Foothills Gear Garage in Morganton. Doors open at 6. Meeting will start promptly at 6:30. We are partnering with local greats Mountain Burrito and Fonta Flora Brewery for a taco bar(vegetarian options will be there) and Brews!
During this meeting we will take care of some quick annual business, including our annual elections. We’ll provide some information on the state of the Alliance, including our 2023 accomplishments, membership stats past and future events. Lastly, but most importantly there will be plenty of time for conversation and comradery.

9:00 – 9:15 am – Safety talk, crew assignment, explanation of tasks
9:15 am – 12:15 pm – Work
12:15 – 12:30 pm – Return to trailhead and collect tools
1:00 pm – Group Ride

Join G5 the weekend of March 15th-17th to help give some of the trails in the Old Fort area some love. Along with our neighboring chapters and other partners, we will be helping promote and organize this exciting weekend of work, riding, and camaraderie. Base camp for the event will be on the doorstep of Pisgah at Camp Grier. The hosts offer dinner, lodging, and more (like free shuttles to the top of the trails).This will be a great time! Join Local Trail crews and NICA Teen Trail Corp groups throughout the state of North Carolina develop appreciation for the volunteerism and comradery involved in trail maintenance. Specific Projects and Locations TBD

Join us March 30th for a workday on Zack’s Fork mountain bike trails in Lenoir. We will be meeting at the parking near the soccer fields. At 9am, we will divide into groups and head into the work sites. Bring sturdy footwear, work gloves, and water. Tools will be provided.
Plan to bring lunch and your bike. For those interested we’ll be riding after the workday.
The 2024 Bootlegger 100 is one of the most challenging and scenic gravel events of the year! More details are on the way as this event continues to grow and evolve in the Lenoir area.
The Alliance provides race support to this event. If you’d like to help volunteer, contact us and we’ll get you the details!
We’re back for the Spring Trail weekend in 2024! 2023 was a great year for our inaugural Work weekends in Mortimer. At the core of this event is partnerships with the local community and organizations.
Our central event is the trail workday on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. In addition, there will be several organized rides on surrounding trails. Free camping will be available for those who sign up for the trail work. So we can plan accordingly, if you will be attending any portion of the weekend, fill out the following form: Mortimer Spring Trail Weekend RSVP. Any updates to the plan (weather, etc.) will be emailed to the RSVP list.
