The year 2018 marks the 50th anniversary of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers Act. In celebration, the US Forest Service and other public and private partners are hosting a large public event in the Wilson Creek Wild and Scenic River watershed on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 9am to 4pm. The day-long event is intended to recognize the history of Wilson Creek and its designation as a wild and scenic river and provide river-based stewardship and educational activities while bringing attention to today’s needs and opportunities. There will be food and entertainment provided by local vendors and musicians.
The Alliance will have a booth at the event and lead volunteer work on Lower Wilson Ridge Trail from 9am until noon. A guided group ride is also scheduled at 1pm. Meeting location for all activities will be at the Wilson Creek Visitors Center.
