The Alliance will be hosting a trail work party in Pisgah National Forest on Greentown Trail, Saturday December 5th beginning at 9am.
We will be doing work on the segment from the Hwy 181 trailhead down to Upper Creek. Work will include fine-tuning some contract-work done by Terra Tek Trails, re-establishing the drainage and out-slope of the trail, opening up sight lines through vegetation trimming, and rock armoring some wet areas.
Table Rock Ultras and the Alliance have teamed up for the funding of this project, and we are also getting support from the Friends of the Mountains-To-Sea Trail Volunteers, and the State Trails Program. This section of trail is heavily used by mountain bikers, trail runners, and hikers, and the segment we will be working on is in need of some trail love. Come on out and help us do some work in the forest on this classic Pisgah trail! Please carpool as there is limited parking at the trailhead. We plan to work for 3 hours, break for lunch, and possibly do more work to the section after that if needed. Tools will be provided. Bring sturdy footwear, work gloves, water, snacks, and lunch.
