• Part 4/4 of, GOOD NEWS Y’all, we’re growin • Part 4/4 of, GOOD NEWS Y’all, we’re growing! Let’s meet new board member Brian Massengill from Wilkesboro, NC — Brief Bio - I have been involved with the BMCC (Brushy Mtn Cycling Club) for a number of years, helping with trail work, trail maintenance, race/event assistance, and the occasional mechanic duties on the old ditch witch. I enjoy all types of cycling; mtb, road, and gravel. I got started in mountain biking after college in the mid 90’s as cross training for off-road motorcycle riding/racing. I still ride and race moto some, but now spend way more time on the mountain bike and local trails. Welcome to the board🙏🏻

A short bio . . . I live with my family in Hickory and have lived in the area since 1993. I started riding MTBs in 1985 when I lived in Northern California. I still do some racing and love long rides in Pisgah, especially Wilson Creek on my SS with my trail dog. We spend most of our family time outside...riding, hiking, paddling, camping, fly-fishing and skiing. Serving the riding community with access, trails and information is my goal for the Northwest NC MTB Alliance board. Welcome Rob, thanks for helping grow our team 🙏🏻

. . .
I was raised in Wilkesboro, NC. I grew up with an appreciation of the outdoors and the adventures that my hometown provides. I joined the Alliance in 2017. I have volunteered at a few different trails since then and I’m looking forward to working on many more! I have met so many amazing people within our mountain biking community over the years. I’m excited about learning more about trail advocacy and sharing my love for our local trails. Welcome and thanks for what you do, Parkah! #ridenwnc #volunteering
• GOOD NEWS Y’all . . . we’re growing! To he • GOOD NEWS Y’all . . . we’re growing! To help our organization prepare for the future and strengthen our large NWNC geographical area we decided at our final members meeting of 2020 it was time to grow our board of directors. So over the next several days we are pleased to introduce and feature four wonderful humans into the Alliance (BOD) family. Let’s get started with a warm welcome and brief bio for Wendell Owens — Wendell has worked 27 years with the Hickory Fire Department and also works part time at Lightning Cycles in Hickory. Wendell joined the Alliance and began volunteer work on Zack's Fork Trail in 2014. With a background in saw work he quickly became certified by the USFS to help clear downed trees within the Alliance territory. In his spare time away from work he rides with his 12 year old son every opportunity that allows and is an assistant coach for his son's NICA MTB team. "Healthy trails have been a passion of mine since the early 90's. It is an honor to be part of an organization that speaks, builds, respects, and maintains the trails in our community." 🙏🏻 thanks for what you do, Wendell! #ridenwnc

Jack brings kindness and leadership to the Alliance and has been with us since our inception. On the trail or behind the scenes, Jack has helped accomplish many goals. If you see Jack, tell him thank you . . . or tell him here. Cheers, JB 🍻 #muchappreciated #leadership #volunteerism #ridenwnc
