Rolling into 2017

Dec 14, 2016 | News

The Alliance is closing out 2016 with this post, and here are some updates!

Annual Meeting Wrap. Thanks to everyone who came out to the chapter meeting Nov. 17. We had over 40 people in attendance, including land managers from Pisgah National Forest, W. Kerr Scott Reservoir, and Catawba County Parks. Among other business taking place at the meeting, Jack Brown (Lenoir) was voted in as new Chapter President. Jack will be taking over from Paul Stahlschmidt, who will remain on the Board of Directors as Trails Coordinator. Jack provided us with a great summary of Trail Prom, which raised a solid amount of dough for new trails.

New Website. Thanks to Alliance members Ryan and Jeremy at Full Metal Chicken for the great presentation at the meeting and for creating a new look to our website!

2017 Women’s Rides. After several great events last year, the Alliance is announces Women’s Group Rides for 2017. The rides are open to women only of all abilities. Please check out the linked post for more info.

Upcoming Work Parties. Soon we’ll be announcing a full slate of work parties for 2017, but we already have some on the calendar, including January 7 at Kerr Scott, and February 25.

Getting our Hickory On. Last year we began get our Pisgah on, and this year we will be getting our Hickory on. As announced at our Nov. meeting, we have begun adopting trails at Riverbend Park and Hickory City Park which includes planning for new trails in the near future.

Races! April will be a busy month for the Alliance as we are helping support three races that will benefit our chapter. While this several months away, please let us know if you can help with any of the events… 6 Hours of Warrior Creek April 1, Dark Grind April 9, and the NICA Youth race on April 22.

Please email us at info@ridenwnctrails.com to let us know if you can help with or have any questions about any of the events listed above.

Thanks everyone for all of your support. Happy Holidays, and stay tuned for more information as we roll into the new year!
