Nothing could be truer than within our trail community. • Just a couple of short months ago we shared news about the reopening of the beloved ditch (😂), Schoolhouse Ridge Trail (#279) within the Grandfather District. What we didn’t do was mention key players . . . you know, the movers & shakers. We had many Alliance members who dug-in to help with the project but we overlooked a post-up of this, well played, @pisgahpodcast featuring @xianjackson about the, how & why. We’re super thankful for Kristian’s leadership & passion for MTB trails. If you haven’t, have a listen & hear about his behind the seen insight on this radical trail. • We’re having a Work Party this Saturday @ Ke • We’re having a Work Party this Saturday @ Kerr Scott VAC, Jun 4 @ 9am – 1pm . . . • Join the Alliance & help us celebrate National Trails Day at Kerr Scott Reservoir. We’ll meet at the Visitors Center at the main OVT trailhead . . . W. Kerr Scott VAC 499 Reservoir Rd Wilkesboro, NC 28697 • Trail Work will begin at 9 am . . . arrive a few minutes early if possible. Work will end around noon. Bring sturdy footwear & work gloves, plus water & snacks to take with you on the trail. Tools will be provided. Bring your bike, a group ride is scheduled @ 1pm. It takes a lot of planning & behind the scenes work to put on race events and we’re super humbled that @nccyclocross has generously donated $$$ dollars for the Alliance to put into the Lake Hickory Trails fund. Schoolhouse Ridge Trail in the Grandfather Ranger District has received some love and has reopened. Trail (TR #279) has been closed since January 2022 for restoration of the lower 1.5 miles connecting to Mortimer Campground.
